Why subscribe?

The mafia can be hard to understand for an English-speaking audience, accustomed to Hollywood and TV depictions that sometimes romanticise the phenomenon, other times exaggerate it, and often create grotesque caricatures. As Giovanni Falcone said “If we want to fight the mafia effectively, we shouldn’t transform it into a monster ... We have to realise that it resembles us.” Here, I try to make the mafia understandable for people who only have a passing knowledge of its workings, explaining its history and its present.
